UPDATE: The man, believed to be in his mid twenties, had suffered a slash wound to the back of his neck and a head trauma.
LATEST: Gloucestershire Police attended Barton Street, Gloucester at 6.45pm this evening where a man in his twenties was found injured by the shop Liquid Treasure. The man, believed to be in his mid twenties, had suffered a slash wound to the back of his neck and a head trauma. He was taken by ambulance to GRH. His injuries at this stage are not believed to be life threatening or life changing.
Police have closed Barton Street, Vauxhall Road and Millbrook Street while they conduct their enquiries.
Witnesses have reported seeing a fight between a number of males in Vauxhall Road but it is not known if the fight is linked to this assault. Witnesses also reported seeing a bald or shaven headed male wearing a grey top and joggers running down Blenheim Road towards Rycroft Street.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed anything or has any information relating to this incident who has not already been been spoken to by police to get in touch. Please call 101 quoting incident number 397 of 17 October.
TRAVEL: The A417 in Gloucestershire is closed northbound between the A429 (near Cirencester) and the A436 (Ullenwood) for essential emergency repairs.
Road users are advised to follow the "Solid Square" diversion symbols. Take the A429 towards Stow and proceed to the A40 towards Cheltenham. Continue on the A40 to the A436 Gloucester. Continue on the A436 then at the first roundabout take the exit for the M5 Gloucester. At the second roundabout take the 2nd exit for M5 Gloucester and re-join the A417 at the Air Balloon Roundabout.
Road users are also advised to allow extra time for their journey.

MISSING CHILD ALERT: Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a missing boy from Tewkesbury.
10-year-old Fabian Jakeman was last seen riding his bike at 3:30pm in Cornflower Close, Walton Cardiff.
Fabian is a white male, 5 feet tall, has light brown hair and is wearing a grey top with an unknown image on the front, school grey trousers and black and white trainers. He is on a red and gold ‘Mongoose’ BMX bike.
Police are concerned for Fabian’s welfare so are appealing for anyone who may have seen him to contact Gloucestershire Police on 999 or 101 quoting incident number 352 of 16th October. Please share to help find this vulnerable boy.

MISSING: Police are appealing for the public's help to trace a missing 86-year-old man from Cheltenham.
David Field suffers from problems with his memory and is considered vulnerable.
He was last seen at 3pm today, Saturday 30 September, and it is believed David has driven off from an address on Cleevemount Close in a grey/silver Seat Ibiza with the registration plate VK56 YDF.
The vehicle has a disabled badge on it and distinctive Mickey Mouse ears on the aerial.
David was last seen wearing a yellow polo shirt and black trousers.
Searches are being carried out but anyone who sees David or knows where he is should call 101 straight away and quote incident 418 of 30/9.

NEWS: A climber from Wales killed by a rock fall in Yosemite National Park in California has been named by officials.
Andrew Foster, 32, originally from the Cheltenham area, was trapped while his wife, Lucy, 28, was seriously hurt when rocks fell from El Capitan.
Mrs Foster remains in a "critical condition" after being airlifted from the collapse.
Friends of the couple said: "Andy and Lucy both lived for climbing and
adventure. They were both highly skilled and competent climbers and this was a tragic case of wrong place and the wrong time."

NEWS: Gloucestershire Constabulary were called at 12.14 today following reports of a serious road traffic collision on the A48 between Newnham and Minsterworth near Westbury-on-Severn.
A black motorcycle, driven by a 28 year old man from Minsterworth collided with a horsebox driven by a 54 year old woman from Dursley. Despite the best efforts of members of the public, paramedics and the air ambulance crew the motorcyclist was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the horsebox was uninjured.
Various roads were closed between Westbury-on-Severn and the Highnam roundabout including the Elton Corner junction. Roads were reopened just after 4.30pm today.
